John- 6 months!

Little Man,

Yesterday you turned 6 months old! Your check-up isn't until next week so I will update then with your height and weight.


Update 4/24/12-At the Dr today you weighed in at 17 lbs 9 oz, length of 28.5 in, and your head was 17 3/4 in. Your weight is in the 50th percentile, length is in the 95th percentile, and head is around the 85th percentile. So, you are a tall boy!

You are loving baby food! I make your baby food using the baby bullet and so far you have tried Avocado, Banana, Pear, Apple, Sweet Potato, and squash. And of course rice cereal. You won't take the rice cereal with a spoon but will take it very diluted in your bottle. Bananas seem to be your favorite, you didn't like Avocado, really dislike peas, and pears are hit or miss. I usually mix the pears with the Bananas and you like them a lot better that way. Everything else you have tried you seem to like though.  Your feeding schedule is now 3 bottles a day and 2 meals of baby food. I usually also give you your juice with your baby food feedings. You are a great little eater, you have gotten to be a lot less messy and more coordinated. You are up to 2 of the baby bullet jars a meal.

You are rolling all over the place still and working on trying to crawl. You get quite frustrated because you try so hard to move forward but can't quite yet. You frequently lay on your stomach and kick your legs while pulling your arms back at the same time. You look like you are trying to fly!


You have now decided to sleep on your stomach with your legs curled completely under you and your booty in the air. It is too funny, and doesn't seem too comfortable, but for you it seems to be.

You are "talking" and laughing more and more. Your new favorite thing is to "chase" Zoe. You laugh hysterically while "chasing" her.

Still sleeping around 12 hours at night but lately you have been taking longer naps. Some days you stick with your original schedule of little cat naps, but other days you have been taking 2 longer naps.

You are in size 3 diapers and some 6 and some 9 month clothes.


To my surprise, still no teeth yet. Still lots of biting and drooling, so anytime!
